Hurricane Wilma Response and Distribution Sites

Our deepest thanks to all who have partnered with us over the past few months as we responded to the Gulf hurricanes. With the help of individual donors, corporations, churches, radio stations and others, we have been able to distribute food, clothes, water and supplies to those impacted most by these disasters. We appreciate your continued support for those in need here in the States and also overseas.

The following images from our Hurricane Wilma relief are examples of how your generosity has helped.

COMPASSIONATE ALLIANCE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DISTRIBUTION SITES IN AND AROUND NAPLES, FLORIDA

In the wake of Hurricane Wilma, which came ashore in Florida just south of Naples, Ocala, Florida based Compassionate Alliance has been assigned by the state of Florida responsibility for managing all distribution sites in Collier County, which includes Naples and the surrounding area. All donations into the area and all other faith-based groups will be positioned for deployment based on the logistical assessment of Compassionate Alliance. This is based on the certification of Compassionate Alliance personnel with the state of Florida Emergency Management Agency for managing emergency distribution sites, and Compassionate Alliance’s demonstrated success.

Trucks loaded with food, water, and ice are being distributed at most of these sites already as Compassionate Alliance was the first agency to respond to the hardest hit hurricane disaster area. This was also the case following Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. Compassionate Alliance has found that working in cooperation with state and county emergency management officials has brought favor to their relief efforts and made it possible to provide supplies and manage distribution in the areas facing the most immediate need.

As other faith-based organizations are being directed to Compassionate Alliance for deployment and distribution, unnecessary duplication is avoided and the spread of services enables more victims to access needed relief supplies. It is a mark of distinction that Compassionate Alliance has achieved this level of confidence with state and county emergency management authorities and a credit to the efficiencies Compassionate Alliance is able to bring to relief efforts. More people are served in a cost efficient manner as faith-based groups work together under the direct supervision of Compassionate Alliance. Please consider partnering with us to meet the needs of individuals and families in this area.
