Domestic Outreaches Spring/Summer 2009
Disasters have devastated several areas in the United States in the past few
months: storms, floods, forest fires, tornados and hurricanes. Even in the
southeastern part of America, floods have impacted the northern part of
Florida. For several weeks, the CA team has trucked supplies into the area
and helped local residents in what has been called the worst flood in 500
years.
In the last three months, 35 semi-truck loads of food, water, and supplies
have cleared our warehouse and moved to help people at the edge of disaster.
During this same time, 18 outreach events have been held to assist people in
this time of economic crisis. Wheelchairs have been distributed, school
desks shipped, used computers sent and medical supplies given. This has been
one of the finest seasons of ministry in the history of Compassionate
Alliance.
CA is aligned with these churches in areas of ministry: Meadowbrook Church,
the Assemblies of God, New Testament Baptist Church, the Christian Church,
and many of other fellowships and organizations. These local churches are
the distribution points for the ministry. Hundreds of volunteers have found
a place of significant ministry through CA in the warehouse preparing the
product or at the outreach distribution centers. All share in the work and
blessings of following Christ and "remembering the poor and needy."
Have you been blessed with much? Then you may feel the need to give back to
help others, for we are not to be consumers only but rather suppliers of the
abundance of God's gifts. It is as if we are the channel through which God's
blessings flow. Thank you for your help. Let us all be found faithful in our
compassionate alliances.
You can help those in need by
sending your gift to Compassionate Alliance.
Your generosity will help make a difference in the lives of many.
