
In 2010 (prior to U.S. Executive Order 13722), Compassionate Alliance founder, Steve Ewing, and company were granted entrance to Pyongyang, North Korea, for humanitarian purposes.

Along with assisting in the construction of the building, Compassionate Alliance aided the heart hospital in Pyongyang by sending two shipping containers of medical equipment valued at over $500,000 to equip the facility.

The accompanying doctors performed open heart surgeries on local dignitaries.
